About Me & Where I’ve Been
I love to travel and spend time outdoors! I grew up in Minnesota spending almost all my weekends as a child camping, fishing, boating, hiking or some combination of them all. Basically, I’ve explored a solid portion of the state, including a winter camping trip way up north (complete with frostbite). Our family also ventured to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse in South Dakota, took in cheese curds in Wisconsin, made trips to Disneyworld, and visited family in North Dakota, Iowa and Missouri. As I got older, our trips got bigger. We took a Caribbean cruise, visited the Philippines and then went to Vietnam to meet my family (my mom was adopted). With this upbringing, I was doomed to spend my days longing for travel and adventure.
For undergrad I moved to Syracuse to study international relations. During that time, I took spring break trips to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. I also studied abroad in Strasbourg, France – which I loved! While there, I traveled to Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Morocco and Turkey.
Now I live in Washington, DC where I am pursuing my master’s degree in Global Communication with a focus on International Development and Public Diplomacy from The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs. I save up for big trips here and there (Thailand, Malaysia and Mexico), but also take little ones too – anything to keep exploring and seeing new places. I’ve been up and down the east coast for weddings and for camping/hiking. Some spots include Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia. I also like to take my sister to new ballparks and we’ve gone to Wrigley Field in Chicago, Fenway in Boston, and Camden Yards in Baltimore. My boyfriend is from Bend, Oregon and I’ve been out that way a few times now to hike, backpack and drink lots of delicious beer.
Hope you enjoy my random thoughts, adventures and photos!
